About ADHD
ADHD is a mental condition that affects an individual’s ability to focus, regulate emotions, initiate tasks, manage their time and control impulses. Although often diagnosed in childhood, its effects can continue into adulthood. There is a growing understanding of ADHD and its different and loss common presentations which sometimes lead to late diagnoses which can be difficult to process. Misunderstandings about ADHD can lead to unnecessary blame or shame, based on the incorrect belief that symptoms are simply a matter of willpower.
ADHD symptoms vary from person to person and can include challenges such as organizing tasks, frequent forgetfulness, restlessness, excessive talking, impulsive decision-making and more. These issues can impact daily life, relationships, and performance at school or work.
